Type testing is a series of comprehensive and rigorous tests conducted on one or a few representative samples to verify whether the product design fully meets the requirements of standards and technical specifications. According to EN545 standard requirements:
At least one specification in each group must be type tested. When the performance of the same size range combination is based on the same design parameters, one specification can represent a group. If the ductile iron pipe joints design or manufacturing process in a group is different, the group must be reallocated and combined. When flanges are involved, at least one specification in each group must be type tested, and the PN tested is the maximum value available for each flange. When the performance of the same size range combination is based on the same design parameters, one DN can represent a group. If the product design or manufacturing process in a group is different, the group must be regrouped.
