According to EN545, the markings on ductile iron pipes and fittings should be clear, durable and include the following:
DI pipe marking tape
- Pipe marking labels
- DS: Manufacturer’s Name or Trademark
- ISO2531: Implementation Standard Number (e.g., EN545)
- DN1000: Nominal Diameter
- C25: Pressure Rating
- L6000: Effective Length
- 2025: Date of Production
2. Socket pipe marking
- 25: Year of Production
- DN1000: Nominal Diameter
- DI: Ductile iron
Spigot pipe marking
- ‘Scissors’ means the ductile iron pipe can be cut. The purpose of cutting is to cut into lengths less than 6 meters according to the final length during on-site installation.
- EN545 stipulates that in the same batch of pipes delivered, the proportion of “short pipes” caused by cutting is allowed to be 5%-10%.
All the above signs should be made by casting or cold stamping to ensure that they are clearly visible during transportation, storage and installation.
