EN 10088-1 is one of the basic specifications for stainless steel in the European standard system. Its full name is: EN 10088-1: Stainless steels – Part 1: List of stainless steels, and it is also one of the SML PIPE reference standards of EN877.
- Defines the types of stainless steel covered by the standard: corrosion-resistant steel, heat-resistant steel, and steel with both characteristics.
- Specifies the product forms to which the standard applies: semi-finished products (such as slabs, ingots), bars, wires, profiles, forgings, and plates, strips, pipes, etc. for subsequent processing (the specific technical requirements of these products are usually specified in other parts of EN 10088 or specific product standards).
- Clarifies that the standard mainly provides a list of grades, chemical composition, classification of steel, and general requirements.
